Your Question Was...
How do I set up custom error pages on my site?

This procedure requires that your account has telnet access activated on it. If you would like to have telnet activated on your account, please click here. Once you have received confirmation of telnet being enabled on your account, please proceed as listed below.

You must create a file called ".htaccess" in your publci_html directory. In this file write (if a .htaccess file already exists, then just add the following to the file):

ErrorDocument 400 /400.html
ErrorDocument 401 /401.html
ErrorDocument 403 /403.html
ErrorDocument 404 /404.html
ErrorDocument 500 /500.html

The /404.html name may be any page that you desire.

Create your custom error pages, using the names that you have specified above, and you are all set to go.

Occasionally, your custom error pages will not show up properly in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Should this happen to you, then simply change the reference to the "custom error page" to use a full URL. i.e. "http://www.your-domain-name/404.html".
If you are not sure how to do this, or if you do not know how to use telnet, please feel free to contact us and we will be glad to assist you.
