Using Cron/Crontab on my account...

Cron or Crontab (they are related in that one cannot exist without the other).

Cron: The daemon that runs specific functions automatically at specified intervals
  Crontab:
The actual program that loads your schedule file into the cron daemons "data bank".
  Uses:
Cron can be used to run a specific program or set of programs, to perform desired functions on your Website. For example, some users have been known to use it for automatically regenerating specific pages on their site, for news articles, etc.
Use of Cron is not automatically enabled on your account, and it is only setup upon request. Excessive use of Cron could result in your losing the privilege of its use and/or removal from our servers.

To have Cron capabilities set up on your account, please click here to submit your request to the Technical Support Department. Please remember that you will be asked to provide a reason for its use on your site.
